During the qualification round held on Wednesday, Kusale finished seventh with a score of 590-38x, earning his spot in the finals. Competing alongside him was fellow Indian shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, who narrowly missed the finals by ranking 11th with a score of 589-33x.

The Final Showdown

His consistent performance in the elimination shots, where he scored 10.5, 9.4, 9.9, and 10, ensured his victory for the bronze medal.

India's Stellar Performance in Shooting

This bronze marks a significant milestone as it is the first time India has won more than two medals in a single sport at an Olympic Games. Prior to Kusale’s victory, Manu Bhaker secured two bronze medals – one in the women's 10m air pistol event and another in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh.

China’s Yukun Liu took the gold with a score of 463.6, while Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish won the silver with a score of 461.3. Kusale's bronze-winning performance underscores India’s growing strength in shooting sports on the international stage.
